How to measure
Roller, Vertical, Venetians Blinds
The overall frame size of your window is called the Inside recess, ideal for your Voiles, and blinds. Then you can still hang curtains on the outside if desired.
- Inside Measure Width 5 x Drop 3
Pencil Pleat
Curtains are enhanced if fitted on the outside recess (wider than the window frame). The overhang or returns each side can vary, usually from a minimum of 10cm each side, to 20cm or more for larger windows.
- From top of track to desired drop = Width 4 by 2 for Short OR 1 for Long (which should include returns of your choice)
- From base of pole to desired drop = Width 4 by or Short OR 1 for Long (which should include returns of your choice)
Triple & Double Pinch Pleat
These curtains look best with the stack (the fabric between each set of pleats) pushed back to allow the pinches to stand together when the curtains are in the open position.
- From Bottom of track to desired drop Width 4 by 2 for Short OR 1 for Long (which should include returns of your choice)
- From base of pole to desired drop Width 4 by 2 for Short OR 1 for Long (which should include returns of your choice) Eyelet, and Eyelet pinch
- Measure from the top of the pole to desired length. Ensure there is a minimum of 4cm clearance above the top of the pole to allow for the upstand (additional fabric above the eyelet).
Wave
- From Bottom of track to desired drop (requires Wave track runners to work correctly) Width 4 by 2 for Short OR 1 for Long (which should include returns of your choice)
Roman Blinds
Can be fitted on the inside or outside
- Inside = Width 5 by 3 drop (choose which side you want your chain)
- Outside = Width 4 by 2 Drop (choose which side you want your chain)
Pelmets & Valances
- Fitted to a wood top Board by Velcro. Make 2cm longer than your track width 4 advise if there are returns both side (e.g. 6” board = 15cm both side). Standard drop is 30cm but can vary especially for long windows. ( 40cm +)
